How it started

It began with a conversation in Zürich.

Dominic Nahr’s talk, Zürich, 2023.

Dmitry had just finished the first version of a visual storytelling platform he was building. On a trip to Zürich to visit friends at Google, he was walking through the city with his camera when he noticed a Leica logo outside a church. Instinct told him to go in.

The door closed behind him. An event was underway, and he had more or less invited himself in.

When one of the organizers approached, he thought he was about to be asked to leave. Instead, the man handed him a business card and said, “Please send the photos here.” With a camera around his neck, he’d been mistaken for the event photographer. Sounds fun, he thought. He stayed.

Then Dominic began to speak. Dmitry was moved by his talk, he has seen photographs from conflict zones, but this felt different. Hearing Dominic’s voice, his tone, and the story behind each image changed the way the photographs felt.

That was the missing piece. A story is more than a photograph. It needs context. Sometimes it needs a voice. This was the feeling he wanted to make room for in what he was building.

Afterwards, he went over to say how much the talk had moved him. Dominic asked how he’d ended up at the event. The story of the Leica logo, the closed door, and the mistaken identity made him laugh.

The conversation turned to the platform and the possibility of building something together. Dominic said he had wanted to create something like it for twenty years. This time, Dmitry left his own card before heading out.

Four months later, an email arrived.

Our mission

Make publishing easier.

Help people tell their stories visually. Give them the tools to bring photographs, words, video, and sound together, with more time for the story and less time figuring out how to publish it.

Publishing a story takes work. It’s worth it. Bringing home photographs from your last expedition is like bringing ingredients home from the market. The cooking is where the magic happens: choosing the pictures, finding their rhythm, giving them words and context.

Create a space for art and photography. A place where the work sets the pace, and opening a story feels like opening a print magazine: calm, focused, worth your time. Let’s bring the magic back.

Leave your footprint with your stories.

Start with one story. Give someone something to remember.
